What if you don't want to crop the image, but just fill the selected area with say black. So that it looks like it's on a black background? This is a really complicated image to try to lasso or smart lasso and then copy and paste onto a black background. But if in pieces, I can just make circles and fill them with black...it would be much easier. You used to be able to do this in Windows.
